- At the weekend of 30th – 31th January we had a meeting with our organisation „Kawaida – Sozialer Dienst in Afrika e.V.“ („Kawaida – Social Service in Afrika e.V.“) to look for new volunteers. Even MOZIMI will have two another. Starting from August this year they will take over the work of Jakob and Therese.
- As you can see we are in process to renew the website. Beside an english version of the homepage, which is still in development, we setup a picture gallery for intruducing our kids and the members of staff. So don't hesitate to have a look!

At the 31th of October Jakob and Therese planed a „Night of Literature“ with the kids at the centre. They will read out of the book "Die Schatzinsel" („Treasure Island“), from the scottisch author Robert Louis Stevenson, and prepare some special food and a campfire for kids amusing.
- At the 20th October 2009 the „Mount Zion Kids Center“ had his second birthday. Together with Jakob and Therese the center was decorated and prepared well for a party. Different amassadors of other orphanages of Mwanza where invited to have a big banquet together. Afterwards the whole group spend the afternoon at the nearby „Lake Victoria„ where the children had a lot of fun diving in the water.

We highly appreciate your kind efforts and support. Dr. Andrew has now bought the motorbike. Since 03.08.09 there is a regular income of about 10 Euro per day. In our photo gallery you can see the first photos!
- However, we need further donations in order to be able to finance a second motor bike. Although the bank provides a bank loan, we need to submit an own contribution of 60%... Moreover, as of Januar 2010 it is planned to set up an own accommodation for girls.
- At present, 23 boys are living in the orphanage. All of them go to school, one of the boys could even succeed to get a apprenticeship for a job as a car mechanic.
- The situation in the orphanage has been improved: Due to donations from the church again the kids have breakfast and also enough rice to eat.
- Furthermore, there is also a new voluntary caretaker, who is in charge of the psychological well-being of the children.
- Starting from September this year the first two Weltwärts- Volunters from Germany (Therese Zimmermann& Jakob Kluge), also via our organisation Kawaida e.V, will work for one year for our orphanage.
